Tippeligaen – Bodo Glimt v Lillestrom Preview (13/8/16)

BODO-LSK

Bodo Glimt preview

Bodo went on a four game unbeaten run but have since come down to earth due to back to back defeats. They now only sit outside the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference and the pressure is back on the northern outfit. A number of people thought they might have a good chance against an out of form Molde last week but they ultimately succumbed 2-3. The big problem was at the back where they conceded way too many chances. Glimt weren't helped by the suspension of centre back Brede Moe and midfielder Mathias Normann. Moe misses out again here but Normann returns, as does right back Daniel Edvardsen. The strike trio of Jevtovic, Olsen & Azemi had a good period a few weeks ago but have gone quiet a bit in the two recent defeats, missing too many chances. Considering their northerly location, Bodo surprisingly have a poor home record this season only winning 3/10 matches at Aspmyra Stadion.

Lillestrom preview

LSK nearly achieved the impossible last week and came from 0-4 down against Rosenborg to eventually lose 3-4. If they can take some momentum out of that second half then they might go well here, but let's not forget how awful they were in the first 45 mins. In fact, let's not forget how awful they've generally been since the summer break! You could argue Lillestrom have played worse than anyone else, including Start. They’ve lost 5 out of 6 games since the league resumed, and their only victory was against a Godset team who were hungover from a European defeat after extra time. Things certainly aren’t very rosy in their garden and the departure of key striker Fred Friday hit them hard too. For this match centre back Frode Kippe & midfielder Bonke Innocent are both suspended which is a blow. Lillestrom have been having issues in all areas of the field and are sliding closer and closer to the relegation zone thanks to their poor run.

Conclusion & betting analysis

This is a clash between two teams located just outside of the relegation zone. So there’s a chance it might be a tight & cagey affair, but I personally think both will fancy their chances of victory. Bodo Glimt are naturally an attack minded side and considering they are at home will feel like this is a very good chance of three points. Lillestrom are bang out of form, missing a couple of players and their defence is seriously vulnerable if you put it under pressure. My first pick for the game is Bodo -0.25. The price is around the 1.75 mark and I think this is just acceptable enough. They've lost their way a bit in the last two games but chances have still been created. They’ll get plenty of opportunities here and should take a few. That said, I certainly don’t trust the Bodo backline either and Lillestrom should be able to bag a goal themselves. I think we’ll see a high scoring home win so over 3 goals is my second pick. It should be a cracking encounter and based on what I’ve seen recently, I don't think there’s any reason why both picks can’t win.

Prediction: 3-1
Recommended bet 1 unit: Bodo Glimt -0.25 @ 1.75 (minimum odds acceptable 1.70)
Recommended bet 1 unit: Over 3 goals @ 1.90 (minimum odds acceptable 1.70)
