France Ligue 2 – Lorient v Le Havre Preview (28/7/18)

Match Preview

When I first looked at this match my feelings were that Lorient were too short and overrated. I was strongly considering backing Le Havre +0.5, but after losing with Auxerre last night I have got scared and decided to no bet. It really isn’t a good league to be taking away teams, especially at this stage of the season. I think Lorient will be a flop this year and labour towards midtable. Le Havre are more my idea of challenging for promotion. They do however miss two key players in Denys Bain and Victor Lekhal (suspended). Maybe this could destabilise them a bit, certainly from a defensive point of view. I’m not sure if this will be an open or tight sort of game, there is plenty of uncertainty. I don’t trust Lorient under Mickael Landreau and Le Havre have a good chance of picking up at least a point. Maybe on the opening day this is a drawish sort of game. Some value in Le Havre +0.5 but in this instance I will refrain from betting and wait until the next round.

Prediction: 1-1
