France Ligue 2 – Beziers v Lens Preview (25/8/18)

Match Preview

This is a big moment for Beziers because they will be playing a Ligue 2 match in their own city for the first time. In their previous ‘home’ fixture they lost against Ajaccio 0-1, but that was on neutral turf in Montpellier. I’m sure being in front of their own fans will be quite an uplifting experience for the players and it’s will add extra incentive facing a big club like Lens. In terms of stature, we go from one end of the spectrum to another here as minnows Beziers take on the mighty Les Sang et Or. Lens arrive here defending a 100% record but it’s worth noting that all of their wins have come against sides currently in the bottom six places. Some people would argue what have they actually beaten so far? Beziers have shown plenty of fight for a newly promoted side. They really aren't a bad team at all and can defend quite solid, whilst offering fast counter attacks at the other end. I think this will be another tight match with chances probably at a premium. Maybe a low scoring draw or a tight 1-0 Lens win is the most probable outcome. Lens are a bit overrated with the bookies as ever and nay statistical value is probably with Beziers. This doesn’t really look like a match to get involved in though.

Prediction: 0-0

Recommended bet: None
