Norway Eliteserien – Brann v Molde Preview (6/10/19)

Match Preview

I was surprised that Brann held Rosenborg to a 0-0 draw last week. They defended well and had a good tactical gameplan to restrict RBK. Maybe they can do the same here against a side who were their real ‘bane’ last season losing 5-1 and 0-4. It was in this fixture of course that Erling Braud Haaland first really shone to prominence by scoring four first half goals to totally cripple Brann’s title charge. The earlier fixture between the two this year ended in a 1-1 draw although Molde totally dominated the contest. I think they are the most likely team to win this match but it won’t be an easy fixture at all. Molde have won 6 of their last 7 league games and are unbeaten since the end of May in the Eliteserien. But a trip to Brann is always a challenge and the home team will be really up for the fight. I expect Brann to try and soak up pressure, whilst retaining a threat from set pieces and on the counter attack. The odds look fair with Molde slight favourites. If I had to bet anything it would be under 2.75, despite the history of this H2H matchup suggesting goals.

Prediction: 1-1
