Norway Eliteserien – Lillestrøm v Bodø/Glimt Preview (6/10/19)

Match Preview

Bodo/Glimt were brilliant last Sunday night as they smashed northern rivals Tromso 4-0 at home. It was a much needed victory, a first in 4 games and their quest for a medal is back on track. It wasn’t as if Glimt were playing badly, but a combination of poor defensive errors and missed chances cost them dearly against the likes of Stabaek & Ranheim. With Molde playing later on in the evening away at Brann this is an ideal chance to put some pressure on MFK by reducing the gap to just 2 points. Bodo/Glimt do have the third best away record in the league but it’s on the road where you feel they are at their most vulnerable and actually overall possess a negative goal difference.

I mentioned last week how Lillestrom have a terrible record against any of the top half teams this year. That run continued when they lost in the dying seconds 2-1 away at Molde. They seem incapable of raising their game to the better teams this season but then again it’s not too much of a surprise considering their style. Maybe here the physical approach of LSK could prove beneficial though. This is a test for Glimt, away from home on a tricky grass surface that could turn into a slugfest. I’m not saying they won’t pass the challenge but something tells me this will be extremely hard work. A draw wouldn’t surprise me and from a betting point of view nothing stands out.
