France Ligue 2 – Valenciennes v Ajaccio Preview (28/2/20)

Match Preview

Ajaccio just keep getting the job done and now sit second in the table after Lens’ recent mishaps. I still can’t believe they will have enough to secure automatic promotion but this team are churning out results so fair play to them. They travel to Valenciennes tonight with the best away record in the league. ACA have fantastic 9-2-2 road stats, I can never ever remember them playing  this well away from home before. This might be a good time to take on a Valenciennes team that has definitely gone off the rails recently with just 1 win in 5 games. However, VAFC do have the 3rd best home record in the division and are very hard to beat in front of their own fans. A midtable spot would be fine for Valenciennes this season but if they do have any remaining promiron ambitions then victories are what they need. I wouldn’t actually be surprised if this is a more open game than some people imagine. But VA have so many under 2.5 affairs the prospect of another low scorer can never be ruled out. Nothing interests me from a betting point of view and I think this is a really difficult match to predict so I’ll leave it alone.

Prediction: 1-1
