Norway Eliteserien – Odd v Vålerenga Preview (24/6/20)

Match Preview

Odd have started the season poorly. They lost at home to Sandefjord 1-2 in what was a pretty uninspired performance, before suffering a 0-1 reverse at Godset in midweek. Things just don’t look right here whether it be the smallish squad, the change in manager, the Torgeir Børven situation or Elba Rashani’s injury. A number of things seem to be adding up towards negative performances. Rashani will be taking a late fitness test today and having him on the field would be a huge bonus. Børven has already confirmed that he’s leaving the club at the end of July to Rosenborg and I have to question if he’s fully focused.

Dag Eilev Fagermo returns to the club where he spent over a decade managing at the helm. He knows all of the Odd players really well and you have to think he will come up up with a decent sort of gameplan to nullify them. VIF have four points on the board and I’m expecting them to put up another solid performance here. I very much fancy backing Vålerenga on a +0.25 handicap here. I just don’t see them losing and actually quite fancy them to take an outright victory. VIF have the better team right now and much more momentum. Things feel really flat at Odd and I see something like a 0-1 or 0-2 scoreline developing.

Prediction: 0-1

Recommended bet: Vålerenga +0.25 Asian Handicap @1.88
