Sarpsborg haven’t started the season particularly well. They have lost both games 0-1 and yet to score a goal. Worse still, they don’t really look like scoring one either. Mikael Stahre’s 3-4-3 system isn’t working….yet anyway. The squad is near enough at full strength which makes predicting the XI hard if he decides to do much rotation. What is interesting is that Sarpsborg have had a full 5 days to prepare for this game so there are no excuses to be ready. Stahre will surely stick with his system which on the positive side of things has generally looked quite solid defensively. They just need to start creating more clear cut chances. Strand Larsen has looked an isolated unit upfront though.
Godset are unbeaten and put in a strong defensive stint at home to Odd in midweek. That backed up a 2-2 draw at Start on the opening day. In Henrik Pedersen I think SIF have a very good tactical and mental coach who will generally get the most out of his team. I’m expecting this to be a tight and cagey affair and the bet that stands out to me is under 2.5 goals. However, a lot of games have kind of gone wild recently and you have to think that Sarpsborg will have to ‘have a go’ trying to end their funk. I’m surprised that Sarpsborg are priced at around the 2.05 to win as well. They already seem overrated this season so you could make a case for backing SIF +0.5. I’m going to leave this alone but I could see a 0-0 or a 0-1.
