Norway Eliteserien – Start v Molde Preview (24/6/20)

Match Preview

Start have drawn their first two matches 2-2 and have looked fairly good so far this season. There have been defensive issues such as set pieces but from an offensive point of view there’s been some promise for sure. It will be interesting to see if they go into their shell here and employ something like a 4-5-1 system. This is the first time they will face one of the better teams of high quality  so a change of tactic is possible. Shining lights so far have been Markovic, Kabran and Bringaker in the final third but they might not get too many chances against Molde.

The visitors are going to be without key striker Leke James again who hasn’t travelled with the team. He has completed his suspension but has probably picked up some sort of injury. The fitness of Magnus Wolff Eikrem is also in question and he’s due a breather to the bench soon. The actual Molde XI is difficult to predict in midfield and attack because they have so many different options. MFK squad depth will really show itself here and this is one of the reasons I think they will have a major edge in the title race. I would have probably backed over 2.75 goals had James been fit but on reflection I have a feeling Start will just try and park the bus anyway. Instead, the better bet appears to be Molde -0.75 Asian Handicap. You just know they will find a way to win, even if it’s only 1-0 or 2-0. They have the quality and class to make it happen.

Prediction: 0-2

Recommended bet: Molde -0.75 Asian Handicap @1.84
