Strømsgodset have had a good start this season and remain unbeaten after 3 games with 7 points on the board. They won quite a wild encounter in midweek when they beat Sarpsborg 3-2 on the road. From a defensive point of view SIF struggled and the fitness of fullbacks Jonathan Parr and Lars Vilsvik will be key here. Herman Stengel has also beren carrying a knock recently and should be monitored. In their one home match so far SIF looked relatively solid against Odd and ground out a 1-0 win. But I don’t think this will be the norm for them because the weak part of the team does appear to be at the back. Going forwards the threat of Salvesen, Mawa and potentially the likes of Tokstad & Ikaunieks will always give them decent chances of goals though.
Aalesund travel here with some big problems defending but at least they now have a point on the board after drawing with Brann 2-2. They have conceded a whopping 13 goals in their 3 game so far and to be quite frankly honest it could have been more. You have to think head coach Lars Bohinen at some stage will try and improve their backline but right now I’m not sure he can. AFK remain without midfield linchpins Jordon Mutch and Fredrik Carlsen and can be quite soft in this area of the field. Fortunately, Aalesund can attack quite well and the obvious pick here is over 3 goals. Until their defence shows any sign of improving then this has to be the play and another 2-2 draw of SIF 3-2 type of victory could be on the cards.
