Norway Eliteserien – Bodø/Glimt v Kristiansund Preview (15/7/20)

Match Preview

There appears to be no stopping this Bodø/Glimt train right now. They have won all 7 games and scored a massive 30 goals in them! The most northerly Eliteserien team have been breathtakingly brilliant, playing some fantastic football and totally obliterated most of their opponents. Glimt are fantastically coached and in the likes of Jens Petter Hauge, Zinckernagel and Saltnes to name but a few, they have some of the top players in the league right now. Add into that their fantastic levels of physical fitness which show no signs of waning and you have a beast of a team on your hands. Glimt are incredibly well conditioned and although only 200 fans are allowed inside the stadium you already sense that Aspmyra could be a fortress for them this season. Centre back Marius Lode is an injury doubt but Hoibraten came in and did a good job at the weekend, so this isn’t really a problem area.

Kristiansund head into this match on the back of their first defeat of the season. But it was an unfortunate one against Stabaek in which they were the better team. KBK made most of the running in that game but came unstuck right at the death as a late goal condemned them to a 1-2 defeat. For the most part it has been a good season for Christien Michelsen’s men though. They themselves are well coached and have a big enough squad to rotate. I actually think Kristiansund could give Glimt a decent game here. Whether it’s enough to take any points is questionable but in Kastrati and especially Pellegrino they have two top quality attackers who could cause Glimt problems.

We have sadly got to the stage where Bodø/Glimt are now overrated by the bookies. The bookmakers simply can’t take any chances anymore. They are a -1.75 Asian Handicap here which is way too much. I’m not saying they won’t cover this line but you can’t be backing it as the value is nothing. Similarly, the goal line is too high at 3.75. If this goal line was 3 or or 3.25 I would take the overs because I think both teams will score in something like a 3-1 or even 2-2 type game. But with a 3.75 line you need FIVE goals scored to fully win, which might be asking too much even for a Bodø/Glimt game.

Prediction: 3-1
