Norway Eliteserien – Brann v Sandefjord Preview (12/7/20)

Match Preview

Brann were absolutely thumped 5-0 by Glimt last time out in a performance some fans described as the worst they can remember seeing. They were so outplayed that had Brann conceded 10 goals they couldn’t complain. Only goalkeeper Ali Ahamada came out of the fixture with any sort of credibility. To be honest, Brann haven’t been that bad this season though and Glimt are battering everyone. The whole defence looked absolutely gassed and had to be replaced during that match. Brann will have had a whole week to recover after that loss so should be in better physical condition. Quite how many mental scars remain is a different question but they have a nice looking bounce- back sort of fixture on paper.

Sandefjord have lost their last four consecutive games and things didn’t look good for them before the seven day break. I’m sure head coach Marti Cifuentes would’ve used the time to prepare the players for this trip to Bergen. One thing you know is that they’ll be organised and potentially hard to break down. The worry is that Sandefjord just don’t have the quality to consistently compete at this level. Brann really should have enough about themselves to get the victory here. It’s not often I take such a short price but backing the home team on the nose at 1.65 seems the best way to go. I never like Brann to cover a big handicap and they have a knack of winning by just one goal sometimes. They will get the job done in my opinion.

Prediction: 2-0

Recommended bet: Brann -0.5 Asian Handicap @1.65
