Where to watch on TV - Eurosport UK 17:00 BST
Kristiansund have started the season unbeaten. As per usual, head coach Christian Michelsen has done an outstanding job here making KBK so competitive despite many people fancying them this season. Key to his success so far has been game managing players and there has been a lot of rotation, keeping players fit. Everyone knows the system really well here which is effectively a 4-3-3 with a few tweaks here and there sometimes. Players like Amahl Pellegrino and Flamur Kastrati will always catch the eye at KBK but there are a number of individuals who go under the radar. Predicting the Kristiansund starting XI is always a devils game. Anything is possible and Michelsen won’t necessarily go with the strongest looking XI on paper. It will depend on individual situations and fitness.
Molde travel here with a 100% record after beating Stabaek 4-1 at the weekend. There were some moments of alarm as they watched their opponents hit the woodwork three times but I always said Molde are capable of bulldozing any team with goals and that very much came to fruition on Sunday. Stabaek are a team who have the potential to be defensive but had no answer for the Molde express train. They have so much depth in midfield and attack that it doesn’t really matter who starts. Predicting the XI will be tricky again but any sort of combination of James, Ohi, Eikrem is going to put shivers down KBK’s spine. The MFK defence is the soft spot and they have had a number of injuries here recently. There’s no doubt they can be ‘got at’ defensively and Ksitriansund are the sort of side who will be positive.
This is a local derby between a couple of keen rivals and Kristiansund have been more than competitive in recent years vs MFK. In the last two seasons Molde have left empty handed from this stadium. In 2019 the final score was a 3-2 cracker as Molde blew a 2-0 lead! The bet I like for this game is over 2.75 goals. I’ve mentioned before how MFK have insane attacking ability for this division and they can overpower anyone. Kristiansund should give as good as they get and with the likes of Pellegrino and Kastrati in the team they will always have a threat. I have a feeling that the extra class of Molde will get them a victory but I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped their first points of the season here. It should be a really good and entertaining watch anyway. As a side bet KBK centre back Christophe Psyché to score any time at 10/1 is too big. He is a massive threat from set pieces and bagged 7 goals last season. He’s already off the mark this year too and Molde can be vulnerable from corners.
Recommended bet: Over 2.75 goals @1.84
Recommended bet: Christophe Psyché anytime scorer @10/1 (WilliamHill)
