Odd lost against Sarpsborg last time out 0-2 but there wasn’t much in the match and a draw probably would’ve been fairer. They have however lost plenty of firepower since Torgeir Børven left to Rosenborg. Odd have only scored 3 goals in the 5 fixtures after he departed. Striker isn’t the only issue for Odd though because they are getting little output from either side of the wings. Elba Rashani hasn’t looked very sharp, perhaps due to some injury niggles and Kachi has been a bust of a signing so far. To be honest, the best part of the Odd team have been younger players like Kitolano, Jorgensen and Bjortuft. They look a work in progress and will probably blow hot or cold too much.
Aalesund remain winless and have just 3 points on the board after 9 games. Things just haven’t worked out for the newly promoted team from whom everyone expected so much this season. Defensive issues have constantly plagued them and AFK are regularly exposed especially on the break. At some point you have to think that head coach Lars Bohinen will solve their issues at the back. He’s not stupid and has enough experience in the game now. But confidence is low and maybe the quality isn’t really there? Central midfield injuries to the likes of Mutch and Carlsen haven’t helped them this season.
Normally Over 2.5 goals or something similar is a good bet in Aalesund games. But Odd struggle to score and AFK maybe might be focusing on keeping things tight for once. Nothing would surprise me here, even if AFK got their first win of the season. Maybe a draw? Odd at a price of 1.70 to win certainly doesn’t interest me.
