Odd have suddenly found some form after smashing VIF and Start 4-1 and 5-0 respectively. However, they’ve just lost key striker Torgeir Børven to Rosenborg and he has immediately left the club. Obviously, that is a huge hole to fill and Odd are hoping the answer is Mushaga Bakenga who has signed on a free. Quite how soon he’ll be available I’m not sure though. Bakenga is often injury prone, and to be honest based on what I saw in recent years not reliable enough upfront. Midfielder Vebjorn Hoff is rated doubtful for this match due to a hand injury whilst centre back Fredrik Samb Berge still has a back problem. Odd have been relying on some younger players recently due to squad depth not being that great. There’s quite a few old players too who could do with being rested. I do worry for them against what is usually a highly energetic Glimt outfit.
The visitors have a 100% record and have looked incredibly good this season. It’s early days but it looks like they will be the only credible title challenge to Molde. Bodø/Glimt are incredibly well managed Kjetil Knudsten deserves a ton of credit for the job he’s doing. Glimt have kept the exact same XI for every match apart from in goal where new man Joshua Smits made his debut at the weekend. Surely at some point rotation is going to have to occur but they look a very fit side and in fine condition. I don’t think Odd will be too bad here but I am going to back the away side on a -0.25 handicap. I just think they are in a different class right now and it could be difficult for Odd without Torgeir Børven. This feels like a tough matchup for Odd and they could be outplayed both physically and technically. Over 3 goals also worth looking at but with no Børven can you trust Odd to score enough?
Recommended bet: Bodø/Glimt -0.25 Asian Handicap @1.94
