Rosenborg are finally on the board with a win. It was a hard fought labourous 2-1 victory away at Brann and ultimately the winning goal was a lucky deflection. But I guess they won’t really care after such a turbulent start to the campaign. RBK haven’t looked right either physically or mentally. They sacked coach Eirik Horneland after just 3 matches and they have a temporary caretaker Trond Fredriksen in charge. Some good news for RBK is that striker Torgeir Børven has arrived after his transfer from Odd and is immediately available. I’d be surprised if he starts, but you never know. He scored a hat trick against VIF just a few days ago so could be a major weapon here. Left winger Samuel Adegbenro is injured, Birger Melling is suspended and none of the likes of Konradsen or Rietan are yet available.
Vålerenga beat Viking 2-1 on Saturday thanks to a late winner so should have some momentum heading to the Lerkendal Stadion tonight. They have looked better under new coach Dag Eilev Fagermo although also had some issues such as the 4-1 loss at Odd. Fagermo is a very experienced coach and will likely travel to RBK looking to avoid defeat, keep things tight and match up to RBK tactically well. I sense this will be a tight and cagey fixture which could be decided by one moment of quality, a set piece or a mistake. I quite like backing under 2.75 goals but I will just sit and watch this game instead. There’s a few question marks on either side so let’s see how it unfolds.
