Sarpsborg have managed to steady the ship after what was a very poor start to the season. Back to back wins against Sandefjord and Start were followed up by a 1-1 draw vs Stabaek on Thursday. I’m still not overly convinced by this team, especially the 3-4-3 system which Mikael Stahre uses but the signs are that they are starting to improve. From a defensive point of view things have been better, although it has probably helped them facing sides who aren’t the strongest going forward. It’s very similar with Odd a well who have definitely lost some firepower since Torgeir Børven departed to Rosenborg. In my personal opinion Odd have been lucky in their last two games to beat Brann and Viking. I’m not saying they were bad or anything but on another day they could have easily lost or drawn those games.
This is why, if I had to that I’d side with Sarpsborg to win here. A draw is also a strong possibility and it’s likely that under 2.5 goals will land. This is the bet that tempts me but it’s been a long hard week for both teams which could lead to tiredness and mistakes. I’ve noticed that Sarspborg home games tend to be more open as well due to them playing with a higher line. So there’s a chance of more goals than usual, especially with set pieces in play. I don’t want to bet on something that I have a nagging bad feeling about so I’ll avoid this game but something like 1-0 or 1-1 is probable for a final score.
