Norway Eliteserien – Strømsgodset v Molde Preview (19/7/20)

Match Preview

Glimt have kept up their 100% league record which means Molde need to respond today away to Godset. They should be able to but it won’t be a complete cakewalk. The home side might just have their mojo back after beating local rivals Mjøndalen 2-1 on Wednesday night. This might inspire them to go on a decent run but in general Godset have struggled with the hectic fixture schedule and been flat in some matches. The defence is still less than ideal with a number of casualties this season which has forced them into a makeshift backline sometimes with no consistency. The attacking duo of Salvesen and Mawa should give Molde some problems though and I expect Godset to threaten.

Molde of course will threaten loads as well. They have the biggest attacking depth in the league with so much quality. It might be that the likes of Ohi are due to start again after being benched for a couple of games but it would be dangerous with Leke James seemingly hot recently. MFK themselves continue to have problems at the back. There’s no way a defence containing Kitolano, Ellingsen and Wingo are going to maintain clean sheets. Goalkeeper Andreas Linde has saved two penalties recently and also come up big with some strong saves. Molde will get the 3 points in my opinion but the better bet is over 3.25 goals. I see both teams scoring in quite an end to end contest. Chances should be plentiful.

Prediction: 1-3

Recommended bet: Over 3.25 goals @1.84
