Vålerenga have been picking up points recently but have perhaps been lucky. They have an expected goals against of 6.37 in the last three games yet somehow managed to keep 3 clean sheets. Quite how long they maintain that for remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, Dag Eilev Fagermo has made a real difference since joining this team. There is more resolve about the players, more discipline and a steely determination which wasn’t always present under Ronny Deila. VIF have only lost 1 match all season and are a much tougher prospect to face this year. The term ‘annoyance’ has been used when describing them and I can see why. If Fagermo gets them to knuckle down ‘Enga can be a total pain the arse.
Strømsgodset have won just 1 of their last 6 games and have had a problem converting chances recently. This could be a problem today because I don’t think they will get that many huge opportunities facing a tight looking VIF defence. This is a really tough match to predict and could go either way really. Maybe something like a draw is possible? My gut feeling is for an under match but VIF are going to start conceding again soon and they won’t get so lucky on the xG numbers. Nothing interests me from a betting point of view.
