Things haven’t started well for Viking this season. They have just one win on the board which came against Sandefjord. For the most part their results have been disappointing with only draws against MIF and Start also giving them points. Maybe this was always going to happen. Expectations were high after a brilliant 2019 and it may time them some time to regroup after a winter which saw them lost key players. Viking haven’t been helped by a ton of injuries in important areas. Signing Yan de Lanlay was always a risk but he hasn’t even taken to the field yet. You have to think that a full week off will benefit Viking quite a lot and given them a chance to regroup.
I personally worry for Odd now they’ve lost Torgeir Børven to RBK. Since he departed they fired blanks vs Glimt and Haugesund and that could be a recurring theme unless they find a suitable striker to replace him. Musha Bakenga isn’t the answer because he’s too unreliable and also injury prone. There’s a chance he has the odd good game (pun intended) but inconsistency could be a problem. I just don’t have any faith that Odd will score on a regular basis now and Viking priced around the 2.20 mark is a tempting bet. I have a feeling they can win here but they need to play an awful lot better over the full 90 mins and not just in patches. If I had more faith in the home team I would bet on them, but I don’t.
