Viking only have 1 point on the board and have lost 3 out of 4 games so far this season. Things haven’t started well but if we take a look at their fixtures maybe we should cut them some slack. The likes of Brann, Bodø/Glimt and Vålerenga have all been faced and the only fixture which was easier on paper they could only draw vs Mjøndalen. But that was always going to be a physical test against a stingy defence. Viking have quite a big squad on paper and it’s a good thing because they have a few injuries. The starting XI is always notoriously hard to predict but usually the rotation ensures guys are fresh.
Travelling here are a Sandefjord side who have lost their last two games without scoring a goal. This doesn't surprise me because on paper the squad is very small and lacks quality. Head coach Marti Cifientes did a marvelous job in the first couple of rounds and will always get the most out of this team. But they are lacking ability and the hectic schedule was never going to help them out. It’s concerning how flat Sandefjord have looked in the last two games and the lack of overall chances being created is a big negative. Viking surely have to win this game. They need to get 3 points on the board and I’d be surprised if they failed tonight. Taking them straight on the nose to win around the 1.75 mark seems like a good bet to me. Their extra class should ultimately show.
