Haugesund are the lowest scoring side in the Eliteserien only netting 7 goals in 11 games. Things might change now they have striker Ibrahima Wadji back in their ranks but there is a lack of creativity in this team right now. The good news is that defensively they are strong and if you take out the aberration vs Bodø/Glimt they’ve actually only conceded 10 goals in their 10 other fixtures. This isn’t too much of a surprise because the best players in this squad are in defensive areas. They have a lot of physical strength at the back and most normal Eliteserien sides struggle to handle it. FKH had a poor start to the season but manager Jostein Grindhaug has been going back to basics with some solid tactics and football.
Stabaek travel here in relatively good form and did very well to come back from 0-2 down to draw vs Bodø/Glimt on Thursday night. Quite how much that game would’ve taken out of their system I’m not sure though and they’ve had one day less of rest. In addition, captain and key defender Andreas Hanche Olsen is suspended today which is a major blow. Under normal circumstances I’d be backing under 2.25 goals here but with the hectic schedule then I’m a bit more wary. I actually think there’s a decent chance Haugesund can win tonight and take advantage of some Stabaek fatigue. I’m thinking something along the lines of a 1-0 or 2-0 home victory but the price on Haugesund isn’t anything great around the evens mark.
