The late evening kick off is a 4th vs 5th battle as Odd take on Rosenborg. The home team have recovered quite well after what was a slightly sticky start to the season and the loss of Torgeir Børven to RBK. Now they will face up to their former striker and how often does someone come back to bite the hand that once fed him? Alternatively, maybe Odd will have a plan for Børven due to knowing him extremely well. To be honest I’ve been quite impressed with some of the Odd performances recently. They look to have a good thing going and are playing decent football. Clearly their confidence is up and despite lacking a quality striker the goals have flowed fairly well of late.
Rosenbog beat Viking 3-0 on Thursday night but that result plastered over a lot of faults. #2 keeper Julien Faye Lund made some big saves in that game and is a high quality custodian. Rosenborg have had injuries of late too and although there is reasonable depth here you do kind of worry about the short three days turnaround. I think this is a really hard match to predict and no result would particularly surprise me. It feels like a draw with Odd probably having the best chance of winning. However, I am not someone to underestimate Rosenborg because they have individuals on the field who can turn a match instantly.
