Stabaek lost for just the third time this season when they got beaten 1-3 by Haugesund last weekend. They were just second best on that occasion and put in a below par performance. Perhaps they were too tired and fatigued after having faced Glimt just a few days earlier. Stabaek are hard to predict at the best of times anyway and literally anything is possible with them from one week to the next. For the most part this is a squad that needs respecting though and there is quality all over the field. Key captain and defender Andreas Hanche Olsen was badly missed due to suspension last week but returns here.
Odd travel here absolutely on fire having won 5 of their last 6 games. I have to say they have been a big pleasant surprise this season. I expected a down campaign following the departure of longstanding coach Dag Eilev Fagermo and then key striker Torgeir Børven to Rosenborg. You have to give credit to Jan Frode Nornes who is getting the maximum out of the team right now and they are clearly buzzing. The bookmakers make Odd favourites today and part of me feels Stabaek are a big price. This is a difficult one to predict though and best left alone in my opinion. Maybe a draw? I’m not really sure and this is capable of going either way.
