Norway Eliteserien – Viking v Kristiansund Preview (2/8/20)

Match Preview

Viking have had a below par season, so much so that they are as low as 13th in the table. They lost against Rosenborg on Thursday evening 0-3 but that result was harsh on them. What didn’t tell the full story was how many big chances they missed, especially in the first half. It’s been that sort of campaign for Vikng where mistakes and big moments have cost them. There is no doubt that performances have improved a lot recently and they are trending upward but a lack of consistency is a real problem. Injuries in the goalkeeping department haven’t helped and the defence has been unsettled as a result.

Kristiansund finally returned to winning ways in midweek as they beat Sandefjord 3-1. They came from behind as some smart substitutions and the excellent squad depth that KBK have once again showed. However, their two key attackers Flamur Kastrati and Amahl Pellegrino are both doubtful here. I would have liked the idea of backing over 3 goals is everyone was at full strength because I suspect that this will be a fairly open game of football in which both teams have a go. It feels like a fairer goal line would be 2.75 though and I’m not interested in taking a bet

Prediction: 2-2
