France Ligue 2 – Rodez v Troyes Preview (17/10/20)

Match Preview

Rodez

There remains a huge inconsistency with RAF and you genuinely never know which version of them will turn up. Their form is constantly wild and unexpected but the general trend this season is that they’ve struggled against the better sides. With two key suspensions to the midfield duo David Douline and Remy Boissier it could be another struggling day against Troyes. Left wing back Johann Obiang still hasn’t recovered from injury and fellow defender Joris Chougrani is another casualty. Rodez have won 2 out of their 3 games at home this season.

Troyes

ESTAC have a 100% home record but have yet to pick up a victory on their travels this season. Similar to Rodez, the visitors have problems with absences ahead of this game. Midfielder Florian Tardieu is suspended and in attack the trio of Hyun Jun Suk, Maxime Barthelme and Lenny Pintor remain injured. At least striker Yoann Touzhar returns from his injury and Troyes are fortunate they have decent depth.

Conclusion & Betting analysis

Troyes are around 2.10 favourites to win this game but they don’t look a great price considering the absences. To be honest, this is a very hard game to predict and could go either way. Rodez are notoriously tricky to work out although my suspicion is that Troyes might find a way to win. It’s the sort of fixture that promotion contenders tend to dig out 3 points and ESTAC have to be classed in that category.
