Match Preview

  • Victory at home to Rodez in midweek (1-0) caps an unbeaten 4 match run
  • Bottom of the table but now only by virtue of goal difference, they have returned to the pack

  • First choice keeper Simon Pontdeme still injured

  • Drawn 5 of last 7 games and hovering around the midtable mark
  • Relatively poor away record, winning only 1 out of 6 games
  • Defensive duo Aly Abeid & Vandenabeele ruled out injured
  • 10/13 Under 2.5 goal matches this season

Conclusion & Betting analysis

Tough one here in what I expect to be a low scoring encounter. Chambly, to give them credit have managed to turn around what was a horrible run of form. Their victory in midweek vs RAF will have done them the world of good, but let’s not forget this is still a limited team, possibly the worst in the league on paper. Valenciennes have drawn a lot of games recently but impressed me at times. For example they put in a very good performance at Auxerre last Saturday. Both meetings last season were low scoring, ending 1-0 and 0-0 and something similar should be expected again. I think the only reason under 2.25 can be grabbed at such a good price is because of the wild VA victory 5-4 at TFC which looking back was just a freak really. Under goals for me in what is a 0-0 contender.

Prediction: 0-0
