Norway Eliteserien – Haugesund v Bodø/Glimt Preview (9/12/20)

Match Preview

Haugesund

  • Finishing the season well picking up 14 points from last 8 games
  • Mixed home record 6-3-5 this year, with both 22 goals scored & conceded
  • Safe in midtable on 36 points
  • Doubts over the participation of #1 keeper Helge Sandvik
  • Key attacker Kristoffer Velde is suspended

Bodø/Glimt

  • Won a massive 24/28 games this season and could still finish with 80+ points
  • Compared to home, their away record is not as strong and did draw last time out away at Start
  • No new injuries or suspensions and Glimt have shown little sign of rotation recently
  • Don’t tend to perform quite as well on grass pitches
  • Four goals away from netting 100 for the season, which would be incredible

Conclusion & Betting analysis

Haugesund have played spoiler in the last two matches by scoring late equalisers against MIF and SIF. Whether or not they can now play spoiler to a Glimt side who are chasing even more record points and goals remains to be seen. The visitors produced a slack display away to Start last midweek, only drawing 1-1. But that was facing a highly motivated opponent who defended well and dug in. Haugesund are comfortably in midtable and playing with freedom, but they don’t have as much incentive compared to what Start had. Maybe they might want to gain revenge for their 1-6 shellacking earlier in the season but who knows. They let me down at Start but I’m willing to back Glimt again on the road. They don’t tend to fare as well on grass pitches, as results at Sandefjord, Stabaek, RBK & Brann showed. Nevertheless, Glimt still won most of those games and should have enough here. I’m expecting something like 2-1 or 3-1 ish type result, so let’s take them on a -0.75 Asian Handicap.

Prediction: 1-3

Recommended bet: Bodø/Glimt -0.75 Asian Handicap @1.90
