Conclusion & Betting analysis

Both teams need the points for different reasons. Niort had a very good start to the season but it's been a tough grind since mid December, winning only twice in the new year. They should just about cling to their Ligue 2 status but you sense a couple more points might just be needed. One thing I will say about Niort is they've shown plenty of fight recently against decent clubs. They draw at Clermont, beat Toulouse here in a 1-0 shock and although got hammered by Auxerre 0-4 the result might have been different had they not missed a penalty when only 0-1 down. Troyes haven't been totally convincing recently. They are doing ‘just enough’ to stay top of the table right now but they lack defensive depth due to injuries and there have been signs of wobbles. You would think ESTAC have enough to win tonight but a price of 1.83 doesn’t interest me. Niort are still fighting hard and could provide an upset if things go their way.
