Tough one here. Godset were great last Saturday beating Valerenga 4-1 but then were poor in midweek losing 1-3 in Tromso. To be honest, apart from that great win at Enga, SIF haven't done an awful lot to impress me this season. Now they have to play their third game in the space of 8 days and will likely come up against a resolute Odd side. I don't expect much of a classic here and I'm anticipating a low scoring grinder. Nothing interests me here.

Tromso have had a very good week, beating Ranheim and Stromsgodset 4-0 and 3-1. They have looked very good, but I just wonder if three games in a week will hit them hard here. A trip to Stabaek can’t be ideal. This will be the first time that Tromso played on natural grass this season and it will also be Stabaek’s first home game of 2018. They looked fairly good in tricky conditions at Sandefjord last week and I give them the edge here. Stabaek are the only team in the league without a win so they’ll be extra motivated to succeed. That, combined with a few other factors leads me to back them today.

I personally think Sandefjord and over 2.25 are overpriced here, the problem is I don't fancy either outcome. Sandefjord were really poor against Ranheim in midweek and in truth have been poor for most of the season. This will be their 3rd game in the space of a week so Kristiansund have an advantage in that department. The pitch will be very very poor and weather conditions could be awkward. I fancy Kristiansund might grab a victory in a low scoring borefest. But the statistical value is probably with Sandefjord and overs so I’ll leave the match alone.

I think Ranheim are a plucky side who have shown some good things in their first week of Eliteserien football, but this might be a challenge too far. It’s going to be their 3rd game in the space of 7 days, whereas Haugesund have had a full week to prepare. RIL have gone from Tromso to Sandefjord and now face a very underrated FKH outfit who are much better than some people give them credit for. I really like the look of the visitors at the moment and they have been impressive in many ways. There’s value on Haugesund DNB and over 2.25 in my opinion. RIL won’t have much left in the tank here and could be picked off on the break at times.

I don’t think this will be a straightforward win for Molde but ultimately they should find a way to get the 3 points. Molde are terrible last week at RBK losing 0-4, but prior to that they had looked pretty good. I expect a strong reaction and they should be extra fired up. Lillestrom aren't a bad side but have already lost away at Bodo and Kristiansund this season, which doesn’t bode well for this affair. Molde look overpriced to me and I’ll take them -0.75. This may only result in a half win, but I fancy them to claim victory.

It feels like Start’s fantastic opening day win against Tromso was a long time ago now. Since then, they've shown some defensive frailties against Sandefjord and Lillestrom and I am concerned at certain point of matches, they are coming under too much pressure and lacking discipline. Mark Dempsey is a good manager but maybe he needs more time to settle at the club and for all of his new players to gel properly. Let's remember that over ten guys were signed into the club during the transfer window and at times there is a frantic feeling about the team right now. Despite all that, they have some good quality, especially in midfield and attack and if their offense converts chances like it did against Tromso then they have to be taken seriously.
In a similar way to Start, it also feels like Valerenga’s opening two victories are now a long time in the past too. Since then, VIF have been exposed by quality teams in Sarpsborg and Stromsgodset. It’s clear they aren't at the level of those sort of teams yet, but they aren’t a bad side and will get more chances here. Ronny Deila won’t be happy with what's happened in their last two fixtures, so I would expect some sort of response. I think both outfits will be keen to prove the doubters wrong and put in a committed performance.
I don’t know who will win this match. To me, it feels like one of those sort of games which really could go either way. Neither team can really be trusted at the moment, but I think it should be an entertaining, end to end type of fixture. Over 2.5 goals massively stands out as a value bet to me. I think the correct line is over 2.75 at similar odds. The artificial pitch here should generate a good game of football and there is plenty of attacking talent on show at both ends of the field. In addition to some likely inconsistent defending, overs is definitely my call.

Both teams had impressive victories at the weekend. After a couple of away defeats, Tromso hammered Ranheim 4-0 and the gulf in class was quite apparent. They were very good in all departments, but this will be a tougher test against a Godset team who travel here on a high themselves. They beat Valerenga in Oslo 4-1 on Saturday, a result and performance that really surprised me. SIF had a few injury doubts heading into that contest, but the likes of Eirik Ulland Andersen and Kristoffer Tokstad all lasted 90 mins, whilst even Bassel Jradi came off the bench for a while. I suppose there is some risk that they might rotate the squad here and rest guys who are prone to injury, but until we see the XI nothing can be assured.
I would have fancied Tromso here but Godset’s great win at the weekend has made me think again. They didn’t look ‘right’ before that match but something clicked and something clicked big in Oslo on Saturday. I feel they could be a dangerous animal now and it would be too risky to bet against them. I have to give SIF slight preference here, but it’s never easy travelling to Tromso, and TIL themselves aren’t a bad outfit. This match could go either way result wise and I also think the same way about goals. You never know which version of Godset will show up on the road - either the more conservative or attacking approach. All things considered I will leave this match alone from a betting point of view. No result would surprise me and my best guess is a draw, but I’m really not sure!

This is a battle between a couple of sides who may well ultimately be the two poorest teams in the Eliteserien. There is a long way to go this season but many people and the bookies still rate them both as the most likely to get relegated. Heading into the game each does have a 4-1 victory in the bag though, so there should be an element of confidence. Sandefjord beat Start and then drew with Stabaek, but I can’t help but feel they were lucky in both instances. On another day they might easily have lost both encounters. Only some really poor finishing and great goalkeeping form Eirik Johansen prevented them from defeat at the weekend. Luck seems to be on their side at the moment, but how long will it last?
Ranheim came back down to earth at the weekend going down 0-4 in Tromso. Truth be told, they were never really in the game and got outclassed. Prior to that, they were excellent beating Stabaek in their opening fixture, but I do wonder if that was a ‘one off’ flash in the pan. We must remember they are huge minnows in this league and effectively a semi professional outfit. It won’t be easy for them having to make two away trips in the space of a week, especially with one being up north in Tromso. This will be the first time this season they play on a natural grass surface and it’s probably not something they will enjoy.
The pitch here in Sandefjord looked extremely poor at the weekend and it wont play any better today either. It’s to be expected at this time of year really and I think Sandefjord will gain an edge by playing on it as opposed to Ranheim who are used to artificial surfaces. This is definitely a good time to be facing the newly promoted side and it looks to me like the home team are overpriced. I don't particularly rate them at the moment but they should have enough to collect the three points. Taking them on the nose close to the evens offers some value. By my estimations Sandefjord should be around the 1.75 mark here. They can use their extra Eliteserien experience, the favourable schedule dynamics, plus a couple of other factors to get over the line.

Lillestrom have been involved in some high scoring contests so far this season but I’m not entirely sure whether some have been justified. For example, the 2-2 vs Sarpsborg and 1-2 vs KBK. Both games actually contained relatively few chances and probably deserved to finish under 2.5. It just so happens chance conversion has been fairly high in their matches, although LSK haven't been helped by a poor goalkeeping situation. They were plagued by the ineffectual Arnold Origi for a couple of years and the new guy Marko Maric looks even worse! I would imagine Start will test him a few times here and they may well force a mistake.
Start have actually played very well in both of their matches so far. They hammered Tromso 4-1 but then lost 1-4 vs Sandefjord. They were the better team in the latter match but got caught out in the last 25 mins with some poor defending. Then they were guilty of chasing the game too much and left themselves way too open. Manager Mark Dempsey might opt to be more cautious here, but they seem like a naturally attacking team so I don’t expect too much will change. The Sandefjord match proved that the gamestate could be very important involving Start. If they are ahead they can control games more, but could collapse when chasing.
This is a tough match to predict and ultimately nothing would surprise me here. I fancy Start and the overs but I’m not confident enough to back either outcome. For me, the visitors are the better team right now, but have undergone a lot of change recently with new transfers, and also showed their vulnerability in the last match. Lillestrom have endured a tough start to the campaign, similar to last season and haven't got out of the blocks well. I would take the overs but the pitch condition concerns me. Yesterday, it was obvious the grass surfaces in Brann, Haugesund and Sandefjord contributed towards lower scoring contests and the surface here in Arasen is going to be similar. So I will reluctantly leave this match alone, but I think both teams will score, Start will win and for an over 2.5 contest.

So in the big matchup of the day Rosenborg are under some real pressure to get their first win of the season. For them to start the campaign without a victory in four games would be unthinkable and to actually lose against arch rivals Molde would be disastrous! So it’s a really big game for RBK, will they deliver? Well, based on what we’ve seen this season so far then I’d say no. However, I know it’s never a good idea to write this team off. They have a superb record against Molde in the last two years, winning all of the last four H2H league fixtures. When push comes to shove they have the wood on Molde and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows it. I would say the value is with RBK and the unders. We will probably not see Rosenborg such a big price at home all season. Molde will likely come here looking to defend and keep things tight, but maybe one moment will undo them. I don't have the confidence to back RBK or the under bet, but that is the way I would lean if I had to.
